CDC Heads Up Training

Why is this required?
Concussions are a serious risk in youth sports. Under Florida state law and Little League regulations, all coaches and regular volunteers must be trained in concussion identification and management to ensure immediate and proper care for our players.
 
Who Must Complete It?
Training is mandatory for all individuals in consistent contact with players, including:
  • Managers and Coaches
  • Umpires
  • Team Parents
  • League Officials
 
Training Details
  • Cost: The training is free.
  • Format: An interactive online video course and a short quiz.
  • Time: Takes roughly 20–30 minutes.
  • Expiration: Certificates must be renewed annually.
 
How to Get Certified
  1. Launch the Course: Visit the CDC HEADS UP to Youth Sports training page.
  2. Complete the Training: Follow the prompts for the "Coaches" or "General" course.
  3. Download & Send: Once finished, save your certificate, upload in your Sports Connect Profile underl Volunteer and email it to [email protected].
Note: No volunteer will be allowed in the dugout or on the field until a valid certificate is on file with the league.
